As a multidisciplinary artist, Evan Kasle offers a dynamic blend of academic grounding and personal exploration to his creative practice. Having graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2020 with a Major in Visual Arts Management and a minor in art history, Kasle’s artistic journey is deeply rooted in a multidisciplinary understanding of the arts. This educational foundation not only informs the technical aspects of his work but also shapes the conceptual framework seen in all of his work and their varied mediums. Through the use of human faces and clock motifs, Kasle has created a visual language that transcends the limitations of words, offering a universal means of communicating the intersection of human expression and the inexorable passage of time.

In the seamless interplay of faces and clocks, Kasle's work becomes a reflection of the intricate dance between individual narratives and the collective ticking heartbeat of humanity. Through the timeless language of visual symbols, the artist aspires to transcend the boundaries of words and invites viewers into a contemplative space where past, present, and future converge. Viewers are invited to reinterpret their own relationship with these symbols, fostering a contemplative engagement with the universal themes such as identity, memory, and the ephemeral nature of time that they represent.

The human face, with its myriad expressions and subtle nuances, serves as a canvas for the emotions and experiences that define us. In his art, Kasle delves into the intricacies of facial expressions, using them as a vehicle to convey the depth and complexity of the human condition. By isolating and abstracting these faces, he aims to transcend individual narratives, inviting viewers to project their own stories onto the visages he creates.

The motif of clocks depicted in Kasle's artwork serves as more than a mere symbol of the relentless march of time; it becomes a metaphor for the intersection of individual histories and collective destinies. These timepieces transcend the mundane task of measuring hours and minutes, inviting viewers to consider time as a dynamic, personal narrative. Each clock encapsulates the unique rhythm and cadence of individual experiences. Kasle aims to unravel the layers of temporality of our lives, prompting a reflection on the nature of our brief existence.

The connection between the human face and the inanimate face of a clock lies in the reflective nature of both elements. Just as we use facial expressions to introspect and communicate, we turn to clocks to measure our lives and mark significant moments. Through his art, Kasle aims to initiate a dialogue about the ways in which these two motifs intersect, not only as mirrors reflecting our shared journey but also as windows opening to the infinite possibilities that lie ahead.
